Neil T. Baker was no ordinary businessman. Mr. Baker was an extraordinary person. In 1952, Mr. Baker opened the first modest hamburger stand on Highland His Avenue in his hometown of San Bernardino. Mr. Baker’s love of business grew and in 1953 he opened his second Baker’s store in Rialto. By 1955, Mr. Baker had become a prominent industry innovator when he founded America’s First Twin Kitchens, which served American and Mexican entrees.
In 1995 Mr. Baker added his third “kitchen” to his award-winning Baker’s Mix. Loma Linda Recognizing the unique characteristics of his community, which is predominantly vegetarian, he introduced many meat-free dishes. Expanding on his concept, Baker believed in serving the community while making a difference for the appreciative guests of Baker’s Drive-Thru. Baker has been involved in many philanthropic efforts over the years, including raising over $3 million for his founder’s charity of choice, Easterseals in Southern California, and running his annual Safe Halloween Coupon Book campaign. rice field.
