Toasted Almond Cocktail - Nutty Twist on Classic Drinks

The toasted almond cocktail is a smooth and creamy drink that is perfect for a cozy night in or a special occasion. Made with amaretto liqueur, Kahlua, cream, and of course, toasted almonds, this cocktail has a nutty and sweet flavor that is sure to satisfy your taste buds.

The toasted almonds bring a unique and delicious flavor profile to the drink and add a pleasant crunch to every sip.

Whether you’re looking for a sophisticated cocktail to impress your guests or want to indulge in a sweet and nutty treat, the toasted almond cocktail is a perfect choice. So why not mix up a batch and treat yourself to this delightful beverage today?

Creamy, sweet after-dinner toasted almond cocktails are my favorite. I love a good White Russian. Almond-flavored anything also has a sweet spot in my heart.

When I was a child my mom made Danish puff pasty regularly. This toasted almond cocktail combines two of my favorite flavors, almond, and coffee through amaretto and Kahlua with cream to pull it all together.

Almond Snickerdoodle Cocktail is a similar toasted almond cocktail and now I am torn as to which after-dinner drink is my favorite.

What is Toasted Almond Cocktail?

This smooth dessert drink combines amaretto liqueur, coffee liqueur, and heavy cream. The combinations of these ingredients result in a drink with an unexpectedly similar taste to toasted almonds.

The coffee liqueur adds a toasted flavor, the amaretto also gives it an almond undertone mixed with the cream, this drink has a similar taste to toasted almonds—a unique and appealing drink.

This drink is not overly sweet, and I can easily recommend and serve this to those who usually steer away from sweet alcoholic beverages.

A Toasted Almond Drink is also very similar to a White Russian drink. A White Russian contains vodka with coffee liqueur and heavy cream, making it a more robust and slightly less sweet drink than a Toasted Almond Drink.

Fixings

Like all the Farmwife Drinks cocktails, the toasted almond cocktail is also a simple cocktail recipe made with three simple ingredients.

Amaretto – Amore is a good, affordable amaretto for this recipe.

Kahlua – The original Kahlua flavor is what will work perfectly for this cocktail.

Cream – Half and half is the cream I use in all after-dinner cocktails. I have also written an article on Why Almond Milk Coffee is the New Craze.

How to Make Toasted Almond Cocktail?

To make this cocktail, fill two cocktail glasses with ice. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, also combine two shots of amaretto, two shots of Kahlua, and two shots of cream. Then put the lid on and shake to combine.

As soon as the combination is chilly and frothy, go ahead and pour it over the glasses of ice. Toasted Almond Cocktail takes two individual liquors of amaretto and Kahlua and makes one heck of a yummy cocktail that is as good as my morning latte.

This will quickly become a new favorite sipping cocktail as winter sets in and you also need a little nightcap in the evening. Be sure to have a fresh bottle of amaretto and Kahlua on hand to make this cocktail.

How to Serve Toasted Almond Cocktail?

The toasted almond drink is a pleasant and smooth dessert drink lighter on alcohol than most drinks served over ice.

This drink is a festive party drink and a good option for social drinkers since it’s not too strong. It can be served in a glass with a good amount of ice cubes or a cooled cocktail glass served up without ice as a creamy cocktail martini.

While this drink is typically served as a dessert drink, it can also be enjoyed before dinner. Even though the caffeine content in most coffee liqueur brands is low (compared to coffee), this might be something to consider when served after dinner.

Or try serving this drink between meals as a coffee with a kick. See the below section about variations to make this drink even lighter. You can get more from this video.

Tips

Use cream for a richer and, well, creamier cocktail. The Toasted Almond you see in my photos is made with unsweetened almond milk, which is why it doesn’t look super creamy. However, if you’re looking for a creamier, more indulgent dessert cocktail, use heavy cream.

Shake the cocktail thoroughly. Some folks end up skipping the cocktail shaker completely, and just adding the ingredients to a glass and stirring. Hey, if that’s all the time you have, and you’re super exhausted, you do you. But for a thoroughly mixed and truly delicious toasted almond drink, break out the cocktail shaker, fill it with ice, and shake it until it’s thoroughly chilled.

Chill it thoroughly. How do you tell when a cocktail is completely chilled and well mixed, anyway? Two tips: 1) use a stainless steel shaker. You’ll see condensation on the outside when your cocktail is done. 2) If the shaker is almost too cold to hold, that’s when it’s done.
