  • 1 (1 pound) flank steak
  • 5 teaspoons white sugar, divided

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Directions to Make Steak Fried Rice

  • With a paper towel, dry off the flank steak. Toss into a medium bowl after cutting into bite-sized pieces. Add a teaspoon of sugar, salt, and pepper for seasoning
  • Add cornstarch and thoroughly mix it
  • In a wok or big pan, heat 1 teaspoon of oil over medium-high heat. Using a rubber spatula, add the eggs and scramble for 3 to 5 minutes. Place the eggs on a plate
  • 1/2 of the meat and 1 teaspoon of oil should be added to the pan
  • Turn the heat up to high and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until well cooked on both sides. Take out onto a platter
  • Repeat with the remaining meat after adding 1 teaspoon of oil

  • 1/2 cup small broccoli florets
  • 4 kale leaves, trimmed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup snow peas, trimmed and chopped
  • 2 cups cooled cooked brown rice
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 extra-large Coles Australian Free Range Eggs, fried sunny-side up
  • Chilli sauce, to serve (optional)

Directions to Make

  • Heat chargrill on medium-high flame. To cook the steak to your preferred doneness, add it and fry it for 2 minutes on each side for medium-rare
  • Set alone for cooling. Make bite-sized cuts
  • Large, heavy-bottomed pot heated at high heat. Add the olive oil, and onion, and stir-fry for 30 seconds once the oil starts to smoke
  • After that, add the garlic and ginger. 30 seconds of stirring. Then stir-fry the vegetables for one minute. Stir-fry the capsicum for 30 seconds after adding
  • Stir-fry the broccoli for 30 seconds after adding. 30 seconds later, stir-fry the kale. Add the snow peas and stir. After adding, stir-fry the rice for one minute
  • Stir-fry the steak pieces in the rice mixture for 30 seconds. Add Oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil
  • Stir-fry for one minute, or until the mixture is thoroughly blended and the rice is cooked through. Use salt to season

  • To allow the wok’s edge to heat up, push the rice toward the center of the pan. One tablespoon of Shaoxing wine should be poured into the pan after about 20 seconds. For a further 20 seconds, stir-fry
  • Season it as necessary
