Ingredients to Make Strawberry Peanut Butter Smoothie
- Frozen Banana
- Almond Milk or Oats milk
- Peanut butter
- Protein powder
The frozen banana in Strawberry Peanut Butter Smoothie makes the texture of this smoothie creamy and thick and adds natural sweetness. I usually freeze bananas as they start to get too dark and ripe to snack on. These are perfect for adding to smoothies.
You can freeze them by peeling and storing them in a resealable plastic freezer bag.
Almond Milk, Oat Milk or Milk of Choice
Feel free to use whatever milk you like for this. I have been keeping unsweetened oat milk on hand because it is creamy and neutral-tasting. But if you prefer cow’s milk or nut milk feel free to use that instead.
The star of this recipe is fresh strawberries. To prepare them give them a good wash in a bowl of cold water. Then simply remove the green hull and stem and pop them into the blender. If you do not have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen, but you may want to skip the ice so the smoothies won’t be too icy.
I add in a half cup of ice to strawberry peanut butter smoothie because I like how it really thickens up the texture and makes them super cold. As I said, if you use frozen strawberries you can skip it as they will make the smoothies icy enough.
Unsweetened natural smooth peanut butter is best for this smoothie. You’ll only need one tablespoon of it to give the smoothie peanut butter flavor (and the added nutritional boost) without overpowering the flavor of the berries.
I like to use vanilla protein powder in this smoothie because it helps make it sweet and it adds protein to help with satiety and fullness. Feel free to use collagen, whey, or vegan powder depending on your preference.
If you are not a fan of protein powder you can skip this altogether. If so, you may want to add 1 teaspoon of honey to sweeten the smoothie.

First, rinse the berries in a bowl of cold water and drain well. Then cut the green stem and hull off the strawberries.
