But the best part of it was since hummus means “chickpeas with tahini” in Arabic, it might seem a little sacrilegious to skip the chickpeas altogether, but considering how delicious edamame hummus is, we’re ok with that.
Where to Buy Edamame?
Edamame is sold in the freezer section of your grocery store. You can find it shelled or still in pods. For this recipe, buy shelled edamame.
How Long Does it Last?

Edamame Hummus Fixings
2 ¼ cups shelled edamame
¼ cup tahini
¼ cup lemon juice, from 1 lemon
3 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic
3-4 tablespoons water
How to Make Edamame Hummus?
Add the edamame, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and garlic to your food processor and blend on high for 1 minute.
Add the water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and continue to blend until the hummus is smooth and creamy.
Transfer the edamame hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with any or all of the optional toppings. Look Yummyyy!!

Alright! keep your chin up! Make ginger wasabi edamame hummus by adding one teaspoon of Each: finely minced ginger and wasabi.
If you like it spicy, add some sriracha or chili flakes.

Use shelled edamame so you don’t have to start removing all the edamame beans from their pods. I also always recommend buying organic when it comes to soy products.
Use very cold water in this recipe. This will help make smooth and creamy hummus.
Scrape down the sides of your food processor every minute or so while pureeing to make sure everything gets well incorporated.
Taste the hummus as your making it and adjust seasoning as needed if it needs a little more herbs, salt, etc.
