You don’t have to go to a restaurant where you can make delicious dishes and pair them with delicious soyaki sauce. You can do it all in the comfort of your own home. Soyaki sauce is my favorite when serving dinner. Not only does it add essence and flavor to your dishes, but it also brightens up your dining table.

What is Soyaki

Soybeans and mirin are the key ingredients for making a sauce called soy sauce wood. The main ingredients of teriyaki sauce (soy sauce) are sugar, sake, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. These two sources are quite different from each other in many respects. It is not fermented like teriyaki. Teriyaki requires flour, but soybean yaki does not.

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari if gluten-free)
  • 3 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon pineapple juice
  • 1 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup )
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger puree
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Recipe For Making Soyaki Sauce

Place all ingredients in a high-power blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for 1 week. enjoy!

How Can You Serve Soyaki Sauce?

Soyaki Chicken

  • Frozen or Fresh Boneless Chicken Thighs
    (Can use Chicken Breast)
  • Trader Joes Soyaki Sauce or Island Soyaki Sauce
  • Cold Water
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Green Onions and Scallions (for garnish)
  • Brown Sugar (Optional)
  • Rice Vinegar (Optional)
  • Cornstarch (If using the slow cooker method)
  • Olive Oil (Optional if wanting to use saute function (fresh chicken.)

Step 1 add the chicken-soyaki sauce

Add frozen chicken to the Instant Pot. You can also use fresh chicken if you prefer. If using fresh chicken, reduce cooking time by 2 minutes.

Step 2 add liquid-soyaki sauce

Add water and soy sauce to the pressure cooker. If you like it sweet or spicy, add brown sugar and rice vinegar. Both should be added according to your taste. I don’t like sweets so I didn’t use them.

Step 3 cook the chicken-soyaki sauce

Cover the Instant Pot and close the pressure valve to the sealed position. Cook on high pressure for 15 minutes.

After the cooking time has elapsed, perform a quick release. Don’t let it stray as it will overcook the chicken. Open the lid and remove the chicken.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line the baking sheet with foil. Adds a cruciferous crunch. Drizzle with olive oil and generously sprinkle with bagel seasoning. Bake for 20 minutes. Place salmon in a casserole dish. Pour in the soy sauce marinade and sprinkle with all the bagel seasonings. Bake for 15 minutes. Prepare the couscous in a pan according to the package insert. Replace low-sodium chicken broth with water.
